Betsy is getting

skinnier and skinnier.

She’s slowly eating less and less.

She hobbles around on her torn ACL

and goes down stairs when she knows she shouldn’t.

She’s an old dog.  I know it.

I’m just so scared that she’ll fall apart in a week,

just like her mother.

Maybe I’ll sleep with her a little more.
